I heard this on the radio today (104.7 The Fish) and thought this is brilliant! What am I grateful for today? Oh man… that God keeps breathing His breath in me.
I am grateful for the opportunity to wake up and to keep trying. Each day I am given another chance to get it right. Whether it’s the way I react to traffic, the way I treat people, or how much/little I interact with my family and friends. Recently I’ve become more conscious of eating habits, exercise, and spreading kindness and encouragement. Without Gods continual grace and love, I wouldn’t have the chance to live the life He intended me to live. He’s done a lot of amazing work in my life. So I’m absolutely certain I shouldn’t waste it.
What are you grateful for?
“Be joyful always. Pray continually. Give thanks in all circumstances.” -1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
So they’re doing never ending roadwork on the highway. Widening a pretty good stretch of 85. They managed to ruin what we do have when they began, creating quite the headache. My sweet Lucy (my car) has constantly been pelted by rocks but thankfully they haven’t done any damage. Then yesterday happened.
I was headed home and as soon as I got on, here comes an enormous rock. The kind that makes you duck, because it’s surely coming through the windshield. I’m fairly certain my heart skipped a beat. And it happened… that big stankin’ rock cracked my windshield. Well what am I gonna do? 🤷🏻♀️ It is what it is and I couldn’t check it out until I got home. (Pictures below)
And there it is. Where the rock hit is shattered and there are 4 cracks about 12″ long! (Today they’re about 24″ long EACH) 😫 Typically I would’ve been stressed and either crying or on the verge of crying. What do I do? How am I going to afford this? And so on. Instead, (without stress or tears) I called the insurance; waived deductible and covered for repairs, $500 deductible for replacement. They put me through to SafeLite and we quickly decided to was a full replacement. Using insurance it would be $500, going directly through SafeLite would also be $500. Nope. I felt that was not the answer. I then went to the wonderful world of Facebook for a recommendation. No matter what, I really felt God telling me it was ok and not to stress. Little did I know my aunts husband does repairs and replacements on older cars and his son does newer cars. Why thank you, God! I can use someone I can trust.
I called AdVance Auto Glass this morning and spoke with the NICEST lady, Jessica. If I could talk to people like her all day, that would be lovely. I’m all set for Monday… they will come to me AND it’s only $180. God. THANK YOU AGAIN! When He told me it was ok and not to stress, He meant it per usual. I’m just glad I fully gave this situation to Him. Without hesitation. Without doubt. You see sometimes… or a lot of times when adversity knocks at the door, I tend to overthink and overreact. What a calm and peace I’ve experienced! Learning lessons. Always. So thankful for His presence in our lives.
If you’re looking for something to read… THIS BOOK 🙌🏻 Listen Love Repeat by Karen Ehman. I’m on chapter 4 and I just love the way it makes me think and reminds me of things I can do to do better in the moments God gives me with the people He puts in my life. Not only with my most immediate relationships, but also with people I encounter in my daily routines.
A perfect example is the super sweet supervisor at Waffle House I enjoyed conversation with on Monday. It was brief but I really loved talking with her. She was so happy and uplifting! Today I went back hoping to see her…. and for bacon. Thankfully she was there. I told her she was so inspiring and she again was just as kind and upbeat. I don’t frequent Waffle House but to have that kind of interaction (on a to-go order), I’d go just to talk to her. It’s amazing the impact one person can make in our lives.
That is the kind of love God had called us to share. Not judging. Not hating. Not just passing by with the awkward looks and no interaction. But genuine kindness. Sharing light and love into others with our actions and building relationships. I’ve said it before, I too am guilty. Therefore, I am really striving to retrain myself because I want so bad to to love others with all my heart. Ya never know the difference YOU might make in someone’s day.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.” -Ephesians 4:32
So I’m skipping today’s photo challenge as I feel like I’m being prompted to go another direction for today.

When I say I LOVE this song… I mean it hits my soul EVERY SINGLE TIME! It came on this afternoon when I left work. I was in singing, in tears, driving home with this cranked up. You never know what someone is struggling with, so think before you judge. I am guilty too. But I am so grateful to have such an INCREDIBLY LOVING AND CARING HEAVENLY FATHER! I have heard so many stories today that truly broke my heart for the people I enduring the pain, brokenness and difficult choices this world puts on us. Stop talking, just listen.
I pray for anyone struggling right now to just let go and let God. Let Him be YOUR song. And if you need an earthly ear, I’ve got two.

This necklace. I wear this every single day and have ever since I received it… mostly, like 98% of the time. It has a huge reminder and is so sentimental. This necklace belonged to my Granmommy and after she passed away it was given to me. She always admired my faith. I leave my life up to God, knowing my faith will get me to and through anything. (Yes, I attempt to take control, but He reminds me I’m not in control) Whether it be major decisions or minor ones, He will guide me. Even at my weakest, I’m reminded that it only takes a little; as small as a mustard seed. When He takes the wheel it makes sense and brings so much joy and no stress.

Happy 4th of July!
Today is (appropriately) bursting:
This was technically last night but I was preparing for today. It brings to mind In Christ Alone. The lyrics say, “There in the ground, His body lay. Light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again. And as He stands in victory, sins curse has lost its grip on me.” How amazing that God sent His one and only son to die on the cross for our sins?! On this day, we remember the freedoms we have. Those freedoms have come from our brave men and women who have faught and even died for us. And everyday we should remember Jesus Christ. He shared Our Fathers love and light with the world and died so we could be free from sin. I’m so grateful, above all, to be saved by His amazing grace.
I hope you all have a beautiful and safe 4th of July, and may you spend it with those you love. Thank you to all who have faught for the freedoms we have. Is it perfect? No. The only perfect freedom was given to us from God.
Today’s photo is intentionally blurred because it’s a bunch of kiddos that I don’t know. They were all playing, waiting for the fireworks tonight. Here in America, celebrating freedom. Inspiration hit.
This is Gods beautiful doing.
I had much more planned and even typed for this post, but I’ll keep it at this for tonight. Something much deeper will come at a later date.
Goodnight and God bless.
Todays photo is the essentials:
I was thinking of the essential, day-to-day, things I use. They were all things I really could do without; my big two are my phone, and my sea-salt spray (which is incredible!). Neither are photo/blog worthy. So I began thinking what is essential that I can’t live without? This wonderful book. The Bible. How much more essential can you get? Anything we could ever need to know is in it. Gods word brings so much peace.
I’ve always wanted and I’ve even attempted reading the Bible in its entirety. As much as I enjoy writing, I struggle sometimes with reading. I read sections or verses or daily devotionals, but I have never gotten through it all. Thankfully, I have finally found a solution that works for me. Listening to the Bible on the Bible app. I listen throughout the work day in my office and it makes so much of a difference in my day. I’ve really loved hearing the stories and actually comprehending Gods word. When you fix your eyes on the Lord, He brings an indescribable peace. I have a few things that I do (and try to do) daily to have that deep, dependent relationship with God. And when I don’t, well I suffer. So the Bible is by far my favorite essential.
What’s essential in your life?
If you know me, chances are you definitely know I’m not a lover of heat. Especially the humid yuck we get here in GA. However, this summer has been so sweet, and has (thankfully) not broke 90 (yet… that I’ve seen). It helps that a majority of our free time is spent poolside. Family, friends and moments that make me want to hit pause. I’m beyond grateful; God keeps showering His blessings and showing His beautiful work in our lives.
For the month of July, I’m going to make daily posts of Gods work by the way of a photography challenge. You see, I also have a HUGE passion for photography. In life there are milestones and there are little moments. Milestones are awesome and sometimes we record them in the form of journals, baby books, scrapbooks, and/or social media posts. But those little moments, those are the things that we carry in our hearts forever. I think that’s one reason I love taking photos so much. It is a literal pause on a moment that can be visualized for a lifetime. In those photos we can see the work of God and there is so much beauty in His creations.
Today is refreshing:
There is so much refreshing goodness in one photo. Some things aren’t even physically in the photo. And glory to God for it ALL! Watermelon Mint Lemonade. Pool time. Home sweet home. My husband and kiddo. My very best girlfriend and her honey. Lovely, sunny afternoon. Rainy, cool evening. Ah, just perfection. Thank God for sharing so much goodness with us. What’s refreshing in your life?
“A sweet friendship refreshes the soul” Proverbs 27:9
Side note: Hello July… but we’re that much closer to fall/winter! 🤷🏻♀️
On Sunday, we talked a lot about encouragement. Pastor Kevin stated that encouraging is literally putting courage into someone else. It is a double gift; meaning it not only helps the person receiving, but it also helps the person giving. This message is the EXACT message I needed. You see I’ve been hitting a wall spiritually. I am sound in my faith, but I have felt like something is off. In addition to that, I have really been struggling with my anxiety and as much as I was focusing on it not being an issue, it was still a huge issue. God really spoke to me, and this week I’ve really tried to lift the focus on my anxiety and focus more on others.
What a huge difference it has made. It is incredible how far a little act of encouragement goes. Others and myself have been happier and more positive. It’s definitely easier to listen when God speaks clearly (thank you, Lord, for that). If you feel like He is speaking to you, listen. Whatever it is. It’s not always easy, the answer we want, or in our comfort zone. I’ve said it before though, it is always worth it. His voice isn’t always clear, but He is always guiding us… and encouraging us.
“Encourage one another and build each other up.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
